I have had many requests to conduct a clinic or post a video of how to change a flat! Well, like the Genie once said, “Your wish is my command!” Today is everyone’s lucky day! As I was completing my ride, it just so happened that my friend Gage was standing in the parking lot with his iPad handy. 🙂 In my saddle bag I had my co2 cartridge, co2 adapter, two tire irons and a spare 700 x 23c tube. I have to be perfectly frank with you, I have been riding for the past 3 years on Continental Grand Prix’s and have NEVER gotten a flat! So, this was actually the first time that I have used a CO2 cartridge! You will see by the video, that I first place the gear in the lowest cog, then take the wheel off. Next I use the two tire irons to take pry the tire off. I separate the irons approximately 3 to 5 inches apart and pop the tire off the rim. Next I check the inside of the tire for any type of small parts that may still be lingering inside the tire. After putting a little bit of air in the tube, I place the tube in the tire, and put the tire back on. Finally, I use the CO2 cartridge to fill the tire up for a quick fix! Hope this helps!
